One Pot Mac & Cheese is super easy!

You can add different flavourings depending on your preferences of course. I used macaroni, double cream, mozzarella cheese, mustard, breadcrumbs and pepper. I only used half a tea spoon of mustard for flavouring. I took out the grill section of my air fryer so I could cook my dish in the pot. Next, I simply added my pasta and covered it in boiling water. I then added my cream, mustard, pepper and half the mozzarella.

The air fryer cooking process

So once I’d mixed all my ingredients, I popped the air fryer on for 10 minutes at 180. I then went back after 10 minutes to mix. It will look really watery still but don’t panic! Pop the air fryer on for another 10 minutes. I then went back to stir again. This time I added the rest of the mozzarella and some breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs are an optional extra, I find they add more texture and flavour to mac and cheese!

The secret behind one pot Mac & Cheese

Now for key part! After another 10 minutes (the pasta should be cooked). When you mix, it will still appear too watery. But again, don’t panic. You want to mix it together again and as you’re mixing you’ll notice the sauce started to thicken. I then left it to cool and stand for 5 minutes. When I went back it was the perfect creamy consistency!

Does it work in all air fryers?

You may need to slightly adjust heat and timings to suit your air fryer. If it’s your first time cooking this, I’d recommend checking it often. It’s really important to keep stirring it too, otherwise you’ll end up with topping of burnt cream at the top!
